Sports Chiropractic Care in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI
Activities can exert significant stress on the spine and joints. Clairpointe Family Chiropractic works with many athletes in Grosse Pointe to achieve optimal health and prevent injury. Unfortunately, injuries occur, but with chiropractic for sports injuries, clients regain strength and avoid chronic issues.
A sports injury, such as a sprained ankle or sore back, can result in and/or lead to poor technique when an individual athlete overcompensates for an injury, favoring one side of his or her body. Sports injuries also lead to secondary pains and problems. Therefore, we treat not only the specific location of the pain but also the areas radiating from it.
Preventing and Treating Injuries
Here at Clairpointe Family Chiropractic, we can help patients prevent injury by teaching proper conditioning, warm-up, and cool-down techniques for each sport or exercise activity. We treat these injuries by teaching strengthening exercises and offering recommendations for pharmaceutical-grade supplements.

Ask Dr. Nathan
Dr. Nathan Blackwell has an undergraduate degree in exercise science and took additional classes during his academic career to further his knowledge in chiropractic and sports. He also played baseball at Chippewa Valley High School and then at Saginaw Valley State College. While playing ball, he suffered a few injuries. He had a partial labrum tear in his right shoulder and tore his meniscus in his right knee. These were both pretty severe, but his recovery time was much faster with proper rehab exercises, supplements, and chiropractic care. Dr. Nathan continues to learn and stay current with strength and rehab protocols to help Clairpointe Family Chiropractic's athletes heal properly and return to playing their favorite sports.
